Irrigation Ban Ongoing

The irrigation ban is ongoing, based on initial plans we expect the maintenance may be completed by the end of next week. We will make a formal announcement when the ban is over, and the signs at the front entrance will be removed. Thanks everyone for your cooperation with this.

On a related note: the sprinklers around the North tot lot and entrance drive draw water directly from the retention pond, they do not use water from the community well & tanks and these zones may continue to irrigate. We have asked Turfs to adjust the scheduling to avoid soaking all of the students walking to school in the morning.

Algoma Township Special Lighting Assessment

Some residents may have received notification of a special assessment related to lighting. Consumers Energy will not work directly with homeowner associations, they only go through the municipality. The township creates special assessment district(s) to manage these. The assessment is based on cost-increased from Consumers Energy, which triggers an assessment for this zone to ensure that the costs of our lighting our neighborhood is borne by us and not by the rest of Algoma Township.

Reminders
With school now in session, please use extra caution when driving in the neighborhood, especially in the early morning hours.

There is no parking allowed along the side or shoulder of Saddle Ridge Drive. Please do not use this street as a parking lot when dropping off or picking up students from Edgerton Trails Elementary.

Please keep in mind that recreational vehicles, boats, etc., should not be parked in your driveway for more than 72 hours.

Please also be mindful of posted speed limits and all stop signs and yield signs in the neighborhood.

Residents should not be using the construction entrance, nor driving around the closed gate to enter/exit the neighborhood at any time, for any reason, whether the gate is open or not.

Addendum to Purchase Agreements

We are aware that several homeowners may have negotiated an addendum to their purchase agreements relating to the sewer assessment. If you have recently purchased new construction in Saddle Ridge, you may want to review your purchase agreement. Please note that these agreements are between the homeowner/buyer and Eastbrook Homes/West Michigan Development as the seller.

The Association is not a party to these agreements. The association is not able to answer questions about your specific contract, nor are we able to assist enforcing those contracts.

Cross-Connection Inspection Update

Nearly everyone has completed the inspection with only a few outstanding. We have sent multiple emails, and a final postal reminder to those who have not completed the inspection. We are asking for the inspections to be completed by 9/30, after which we will have to turn over a list of non-compliant homes to the State.

The final date for the group discounted rate is 9/19/2024. If you are unable participate in the group scheduling, you will need to schedule it on your own and will pay the standard rate.

Construction Update

We expect that the temporary pumping station may be operational in early October, ahead of the original schedule (mid-October).

Prein & Newhof maintains a construction updates webpage for the duration of the construction.  The page will be updated weekly and will be the best resource for residents to visit to obtain the latest information and timing.

  • Force main construction continued along Wolven Avenue. The pipe has been installed to just north of Bent Tree Ridge.
  • Dean’s completed testing of the force main pipe in Elstner Avenue and 11 Mile Road.
  • Dean’s reseeded the disturbed areas in Saddle Ridge where last week’s thunderstorm washed away most of the fresh seed. Residents are encouraged to water the newly seeded areas daily to promote good grass growth.
